Two Caught After Foot Chase Near Suntaug Lake, Spinelli's
Police scanner reports indicate two suspects caught after foot chase on Route 1 South in connection with a car stolen out of Amesbury.
Peabody police and area departments were dispatched to the area of Route 1 South near Suntaug Lake on the Peabody/Lynnfield line Wednesday evening to search for two suspects in a vehicle theft, according to scanner reports. The two were caught after about an hour.
The suspects were described as a male, about six feet tall and 300 pounds, and a female in a gray hoodie and black yoga pants.
Scanner reports indicated that footprints were visible in the snow near the shore of Lake Suntaug, and that a State Police K9 unit also responded while a helicopter was reported on the way.
One suspect was apparently found hiding in a Dumpster on the Spinelli's property -- which is in Peabody except for a small sliver of parking lot.
Scanner reports indicated that the two were also thought to be behind nearby Gaeta's Towing in Peabody at one point.
Lynnfield police reportedly assisted in the search as well by checking the area around Lakeview Drive, also on Suntaug Lake.
More information will be provided when it becomes available.
