Tickets Still Available for St. Patrick's Day Roast at City Hall

Reserve your spot today to see some of Peabody's best known politicos crack wise about each other. Don't expect any blarney here, and there's breakfast to boot.

Mayor Bettencourt's office says there are still some tickets available for the city's first annual St. Patrick's Day Breakfast and Roast. Tickets will not be sold at the door, so reserve yours today.

The morning of wisecracking and good food will take place March 16 in Wiggin Auditorium at City Hall from 9-11 a.m. The public is welcome to attend.

“We have gotten a terrific response for this first St. Patrick’s Day Breakfast and Roast,” said Bettencourt. “Judging by the demand for tickets, this event is destined to become a longstanding Peabody tradition.”

The event will also feature Irish music by the duo McGeney and Moore. Tickets are $30 each and all proceeds benefit the Haven from Hunger.

“People can expect lots of laughter, song, and that endearing Irish spirit of friendship and camaraderie,” said City Council President and host for the occasion Tom Gould. “What better way to celebrate St. Patrick’s Day and raise money for a great cause?”

Contact Mary Bellavance in the mayor's office at 978-538-5704 for tickets or more details.

Why anyone would pay money to see the autocongratulatory group of "Peabody Insiders" carefully dance around The Truth in search of a laugh (and some votes) is beyond me.

Haven from Hunger is a great charity -- I'd rather give the $30 directly to them!
