Sewer Repairs Close Main Street Down to 1 Lane Tuesday
A utility repair project in front of Walgreens caused by traffic backup throughout the day.
Main Street in front of Walgreens was closed off to just one lane Tuesday while work crews connected a new sewer line to the building and heavy machinery covered half the road.
Police initially warned motorists to avoid the area if possible. Traffic mid-morning, at least, did not appear to be too congested with two officers on detail.
Public Services Director Bob Langley said the project was being done by Walgreens, not the city, and should be completed in one day, although some work may continue into Wednesday.
