Salem Man Wanted for Robbery, Assault After Attack on Ex

he following was provided by the Peabody Police Department. When charges are mentioned, it does not indicate a conviction.

 

The following are excerpts from reports in the Peabody Police Department press log from Dec. 5-6.

Monday, Dec. 5

  • 2:17 p.m. The Fire Department responded to a report of a fire in an auto shop garage on Willard Street in the Pulaski Street industrial park. An employee said they were working on a vehicle’s gas tank at the time. See related story.
  • 2:56 p.m. A caller at Ulta Cosmetics at the mall reported a theft, which occurred on Nov. 29. The caller said three fragrances were stolen.
  • 3:13 p.m. Police received a report of a past burglary to a home on Kenwood Road. An air compressor, an edger and a weed wacker were stolen from the garage. A 27-year-old Peabody man was issued a summons for malicious destruction of property over $250 and larceny over $250. Police said all the stolen equipment was recovered.
  • 4:12 p.m. A caller on Roycroft Road reported someone stole a UPS delivery from outside the apartment. UPS had confirmed it delivered the package – a $600 Droid Bionic cell phone – on Nov. 30.
  • 4:45 p.m. A caller on Perley Avenue reported someone threw rocks at him while he was out walking his dog.
  • 6:18 p.m. A 24-year-old Salem man was issued a court summons for domestic assault and battery and unarmed robbery, following an incident on Central Street near Town Variety. The female victim reported she was arguing with her ex-boyfriend over the keys to a motor vehicle when he attacked her, ripping a necklace off her neck. Police then obtained a temporary warrant for the suspect. No injuries were reported.
  • 7:52 p.m. A caller at a Margin Street apartment reported her black and red mountain bike was stolen sometime that evening.

Tuesday, Dec. 6

  • 1:50 a.m. A 22-year-old North Reading woman was issued a summons for driving with a suspended license and speeding, following a motor vehicle stop on Lowell Street near the McVann-O’Keefe Skating Rink.
  • 8:21 a.m. Police responded to a report of trespassing at a vacant home on Bartholomew Street. An officer aid he would contact the real estate agent about an unsecured door and issued a summons for trespassing to a 12-year-old.
  • 1:14 p.m. A caller on North Shore Avenue reported finding a stranger in his backyard that said he was trying to bring the man’s trash barrels inside the house. The caller said the other man was speaking strangely and then fled the area in a green minivan, possibly a Dodge make. Danvers police were also notified of the incident. An officer, after speaking with the caller, said he believed the suspicious person might be a neighbor who used to help the elderly residents who used to live at the home.
  • 1:36 p.m. An 18-year-old female was issued a summons for larceny, following a report of a past theft at American Eagle Outfitters at the mall.
