Police Summons Teen for Carrying Knife at Middle School

The following information was provided by the Peabody Police Department. Where charges are mentioned, it does not indicate a conviction.

 

The following excerpts are from reports in the Peabody Police Department press log from Feb. 14-15.

Tuesday, Feb. 14

  • 2:43 p.m. A 13-year-old juvenile was issued a summons for carrying a dangerous weapon on school grounds. The teen had a knife at Higgins Middle School, according to police.
  • 2:45 p.m. Steven A. Silva, 55, of 32 Elliott St., Beverly, was arrested for assault with a dangerous weapon (a blunt object), disorderly conduct and two counts of making threats. Police checked the area of a Tracey Street residence for a blue pickup truck after learning that Silva had threatened to go to the residence and harm someone there.
  • 6:15 p.m. A black 2004 Chevrolet crashed into the building at the Brown School Residences on Lynn Street. A 65-year-old Peabody woman was transported to Salem Hospital by ambulance. There did not appear to be structural damage to the building.
  • 6:32 p.m. Danvers police reported having two individuals in custody with a related car chase on Route 114 near Walter Road. An officer said there was property damage in Peabody as a result of the chase. A 22-year-old Hudson, N.H. woman was issued a court summons for malicious destruction of property over $250.
  • 7:41 p.m. Dale D. Resca, 31, of 174 Lynn St., Peabody, was arrested for driving under the influence of alcohol, following a two-car accident at the intersection of Lynn and County streets. A 37-year-old Lynn woman, who was driving a gray 2010 Hyundai Sonata, was transported to Union Hospital with injuries. Resca was driving a brown 2005 Ford F150.

Wednesday, Feb. 15

  • 1:33 a.m. Anthony F. Ferrier, 46, of 14 Collins St. #22, Peabody, was arrested at his apartment, following a report from a neighbor who could hear a woman screaming in the apartment above. He was charged with assault and battery and assault with a dangerous weapon (scissors). No injuries were reported. Police said Ferrier was holding a pair of scissors when officers confronted him at the scene.
  • 12:09 p.m. A female caller reported an acquaintance was driving up and down the street near her apartment on Lowe Street. She was upset over that person being near her residence.
