Female Pedestrian Taken to Hospital After Being Hit by Car

The following excerpts are from reports in the Peabody Police Department press log from Feb. 7-8.

Tuesday, Feb. 7

  • 3:04 p.m. A female pedestrian was struck by a motor vehicle at the corner of Bowditch and Central streets. The person was transported to Salem Hospital. No further details were available.
  • 5:46 p.m. Danvers police requested a check of the parking lot at Walmart and Brooksby Village Drive for an erratic driver slamming the car's breaks in traffic. Officers located the car in the lot and notified Danvers police.
  • 6:40 p.m. After police assisted a resident who was locked out of his apartment on Bowditch Street, the man discovered two laptop computers were stolen.
  • 8:16 p.m. A caller on Lowell Street reported, upon returning home, that the residence was broken into. A dark-colored Volvo was seen leaving the area.
  • 9:12 p.m. A caller reported his bicycle was stolen at the A Plus Market. The suspect was described as a heavyset male, wearing a hat.
  • 9:18 p.m. A caller on Crane Brook Way reported her downstairs neighbor was yelling at her kids and throwing objects. Police said the noise was just the kids running around before going to bed.

Wednesday, Feb. 8

  • 1:05 a.m. Joseph Hussien, 47 of 148A Washington St., Peabody, was arrested at his residence for domestic assault and battery.
  • 3:09 a.m. Nicholas Meserve, 18, of Danvers, who is listed as homeless, was arrested at Walgreens on Route 114 on two default warrants from Peabody and Lynn. The charges included carrying a concealed weapon.
  • 10:20 a.m. A caller on Forest Street reported witnessing an assault. The caller said a male in a silver Volkswagen was chasing a female in a Chevrolet Blazer. The Volkswagen, however, turned onto Lowell Street while the Chevy continued onto Route 1 North.
