Peabody Teen Nabbed for Stealing Cash From Woman's Car

The following information was provided by the Peabody Police Department. Where charges mentioned, it does not indicate a conviction.

 

The following excerpts are from reports in the Peabody Police Department press log from Feb. 6-7.

Monday, Feb. 6

  • 3:26 p.m. A caller at a Central Street apartment reported some missing jewelry. Police said the item had been contained in a jewelry box and there were so signs of forced entry.
  • 5:08 p.m. Police received a report of a deer being hit on Centennial Drive. Public Services was notified to remove the animal from the road.
  • 9:01 p.m. A caller at the YMCA reported a theft from his locker. A North Face jacket, wallet, cell phone and $26 in cash were stolen.
  • 9:11 p.m. Austin P. Boga, 17, of 204 Lynn St., Peabody, was arrested, following a report of a robbery in the parking lot of A Plus Market on Central Street. A female caller said while her car was parked outside, the suspect reached in and stole $60 in cash from her purse. He fled on foot down Main Street. Police said they found him on Jacobs Street. Boga was charged with larceny under $250 and larceny from a person.

Tuesday, Feb. 7

  • 9:14 a.m. An officer reported finding a car that was reported stolen behind Domino's Pizza in Wilson Square. The owner was notified and took possession of the car.
  • 12:55 p.m. A caller on Tremont Street reported two of her car tires were slashed.
