Because rain and wind have never been a problem in Peabody, right Roy? How are kids living downtown supposed to get to school...canoe? If you've lived here any amount of time you know that it doesn't take much rain to create a mess in this city. Closing school was the right move...if we had waited "to see what happens" the kids would go to school, only to get released early anyways. We have to think of the little kids who may be walking home...not to mention the schools are also emergency shelters for the people who get flooded out of their homes. Congrats to Peabody for being proactive instead of reactive.

Unfortunately the mayor appears to be more concerned about creating "more traffic" downtown than fixing the flooding problem. Genius.
