Peabody Schools Closed Monday as Blizzard Cleanup Continues

There's no school in Peabody on Monday.

Schools in Peabody will be closed again on Monday as the cleanup from the weekend blizzard continues.

Several Peabody Patch readers noted their neighborhood schools were still buried in snow Saturday afternoon -- some had pictures to prove it -- and wondered if school in fact would be canceled Monday as well.

Turns out they were right.

Northend Street, for example, where the city's largest elementary school is -- the Carroll School -- was still covered in snow Sunday afternoon.

The school itself had been cleared somewhat.

Peabody police issued an alert at 2:41 p.m via Nixle with the announcement for Monday. St. John the Baptist School will also be closed.

There were no updates issued in regard to Bishop Fenwick High School or Covenant Christian Academy.

We drove by Carroll earlier today and had a feeling there wouldn't be school tomorrow :-)

How can the parking ban be lifted when side roads are only open in one lane?
