Peabody Declares Snow Emergency: No On-Street Parking

No on-street parking will be allowed throughout the city until further notice.

The Peabody Department of Public Services has issued a snow emergency throughout the city, effective immediately.

An automated message from the Police Department says there will be no on-street parking allowed until further notice.

The temporary parking ban comes with regional weather forecasts calling for possibly 1-2 inches of snow Wednesday morning.

The local prediction for Peabody is about an inch and becoming all rain by mid morning.

A Hazardous Weather Outlook from the National Weather Service says the storm is currently on track to stretch from Boston to Providence, R.I.

"There is still some uncertainty on where the axis of heavier snow will fall, so these amounts may fluctuate," says the NWS.

The fine for violation of the city parking ban is $50 and there's also the possibility of dealing with towing fees.

Just be glad that we can park on the street other than when the parking ban is in effect, that other rule was so stupid, for all those months it didn't even snow, we had to play musical cars for all those months, every nite!!!!
