Man Tells Police He Was Bitten on Lip by Dog

The following information was provided by the Peabody Police Department. Where charges are mentioned, it does not indicate a conviction.

 

The following excerpts are from reports in the Peabody Police Department press log from Feb. 20-21.

Monday, Feb. 20

  • 3:44 p.m. A caller at a Mason Street apartment reported a package delivered by UPS was stolen.
  • 6:09 p.m. John Leger, 27, of 197 Washington St., Peabody, was arrested, following a motor vehicle stop at the corner of Washington Street and Lincoln Place. He was charged with a subsequent offense of driving with a suspended license, a marked lanes violation and failure to use care in operation of the vehicle.

Tuesday, Feb. 21

  • 1:24 a.m. Cameron G. Byrne, 21, of 10 Downing Rd., Peabody, was arrested, following a car accident on Warren Street. Police said the vehicle Byrne was driving struck a Verizon telephone pole. The pole did not appear to be damaged. Byrne, however, was charged with driving with a suspended license, speeding, driving an unregistered and uninsured vehicle and on warrant from Peabody District Court for shoplifting.
  • 8:42 a.m. A Sewall Street resident reported her car was stolen from outside her home. The vehicle is a 2000 Toyota Corolla.
  • 1:59 p.m. A male caller reported he was bitten on his lip by a dog at a Fay Avenue residence on Feb. 18. The animal control officer notified the owner of the complaint and warned him he would be cited if his two dogs were licensed immediately. He would also be further cited if he could not show proof of current rabies vaccinations for the dogs.
