LETTER: Thanks for the Pizza, Plum Tomatoes Wins 1st Annual Peabody High Pizza Tasting

Twelve Peabody pizza shops competed for high school students' taste buds and the winning title at the 1st Annual A Taste of Peabody event.

[The following letter was submitted to Peabody Patch.]

The 2013 senior class officers of Peabody High School held the first annual “A Taste of Peabody” pizza tasting on March 7 in the high school cafeteria. People purchased tickets and sampled slices of pizza from 12 different pizza shops around Peabody.

Each pizza shop had a table with representatives and volunteers handing out their pizza. The pizza shops dished out all different kinds of pizza starting with the classic cheese pizza right up to wild flavors like buffalo chicken pizza. After people stuffed their faces with as much pizza as they could eat they voted on the best tasting pizza.

Plum Tomatoes in South Peabody was the big winner of the night and was voted “A Taste of Peabody’s” best pizza, while Sal’s Pizza came in a very close second place.

The fundraiser was a huge success and could not have succeeded without the help from the senior class advisors, Ms. Madden and Ms. Mason, student volunteers, and of course all of the generous pizza shops. Peabody is so fortunate to have such wonderful and supportive local business owners.

The 12 pizza places that participated in the event were: Plum Tomatoes, Sal’s Pizza, Bertucci’s, Mr. G’s, Pete’s-A-Place, Gallo Nero, Bonkers, Rizzo’s, Tanner City Pizza, Pizza Regina, Nick’s and Giovanni’s.

The pizza shops were more than generous and went above and beyond to help out the senior class. The managers and all of their staff were a pleasure to work with and could not have been any nicer. They deserve a huge thank you from the senior class. In our eyes all of the pizza shops are winners!
