Jeep Hits Plow Truck on I-95, Leaving 1 Driver Hospitalized

A Jeep burst into flames after smashing into the rear of a plow truck on the highway.

A fiery crash in the wee hours Tuesday morning temporarily shut down all traffic lanes on I-95 North in Peabody near the Danvers line.

State and local police responded to a report of a truck fire on the highway at approximately 1:54 a.m., arriving at the scene to find that a Jeep had crashed into a state highway plow truck.

State police said the Jeep hit the rear of the plow and caught fire -- it was fully engulfed when they arrived.

The driver was then sent to Mass. General Hospital with serious injuries.

The Salem News reports that the person's injuries were not fatal.
