How Much Does an Average Home Cost in Peabody?

Find out what it costs for an average home in Peabody and neighboring communities, according to the recent Home Listing Report from Coldwell Banker.

You're probably not going to be shocked to hear this, but...Peabody homes aren't uber-expensive for the most part; however, they still price fairly highly within the Bay State, according to a recent study.

The average cost of a Peabody home ranks it 77th in Massachusetts, according to this year's edition of Coldwell Banker's national Home Listing Report, which was released Nov. 29.

The report says the average price across the country for a typical four-bedroom, two-bath home is $292,152.

When it comes to Peabody, however, that price jumps to $398,380, which placces the Tanner City somewhere in the middle of the most expensive home markets in the Commonwealth.

This year’s report analyzes more than 72,000 home listings in more than 2,500 U.S. markets, comparing the listing prices of similar homes in markets across the country from January 2012 to June 2012, according to Coldwell Banker.

Perhaps not surprisingly, Weston soared to the top of the list in Massachusetts, with an averge cost of $1,105,692—it's a price tag that landed the town in the 14th spot when it comes to most expensive homes in the country.
