Everett Male Nabbed for Unarmed Robbery at Macy's

The following are excerpts from reports in the press log from Sept. 7-8.

Wednesday, Sept. 7

  • 3:24 p.m. Andy Jonathas, 20, of 122 Francis St., Everett, was arrested, following a robbery at the . Jonathas was charged with unarmed robbery and larceny over $250. Police received a report of a shoplifter at the store who reportedly threatened security, saying he had a sharp object. The suspect was wearing a gray sweatshirt and blue jeans. Detectives checked the area and reported the suspect may have entered . The log entry was unclear where exactly Jonathas was apprehended.
  • 4:11 p.m. A caller at the Sunglass Hut shop in the mall reported that someone stole seven pairs of Prada sunglasses, which were worth about $1,500. The theft occurred on Sept. 6.
  • 5:10 p.m. A female caller reported her husband's ex-wife fraudulently took money out of their checking account by electronic check in the amount of $183. She also said the ex-wife committed forgery by typing a letter and signing the ex-husband's name to it in order to transfer $366 from his car insurance policy to a policy in her (the ex-wife's) name.
  • 5:15 p.m. A 16-year-old female was arrested on two counts of domestic assault and battery and assault and battery with a dangerous weapon, following a report from a caller of a disturbance with her daughter at their Washington Street apartment.
  • 10:24 p.m. Darcy A. Bates, 42, of 6 Norfolk Ave., Peabody, was arrested at a Trask Road residence on a warrant from Peabody District Court, after a caller reported a disturbance with an ex-girlfriend.

Thursday, Sept. 8

  • 12:47 a.m. Police responded to a security alarm at the at 527 Lowell St. to discover someone broke into an interior office. Police said there was no sign of forced entry. The store manager was determining what was stolen.
  • 12:50 a.m. Dylan C. Pappas, 30, of 990B Shirley St., Winthrop, was arrested on Route 1 in Lynnfield near the town line. Pappas was charged with driving under the influence of alcohol, speeding and failure to stop for police.
  • 2:18 a.m. John Kennedy, 23, of 94 Western Ave. #2R, Lynn, was arrested, following a report of a shoplifter at the at 79 Lowell St. He was charged with one count of shoplifting. Police apprehended Kennedy after locating his getaway car at the registered owner's address and pursuing him on a brief foot chase.
  • 8:31 a.m. A Peabody woman was transported to Lynn Union Hospital, following a two-car accident on Centennial Drive.
  • 1:24 p.m. A Peabody resident reported receiving threats from a coworker in Wilmington. Police in that town were already investigating the incident and the caller was advised to call back if any suspicious activity occurred.
