Broughton New Varsity Boys' Hoops Coach for Tanners
Thad Broughton has been bumped up from coaching the JV team to lead the boys' varsity Tanners squad this fall as the new head coach.
Peabody High will have a new boys’ varsity basketball coach this fall in lifelong Tanner City resident Thad Broughton.
The Salem News reported on Friday that Broughton had been offered and accepted the job to succeed outgoing coach Dom Coleman.
Broughton has coached the junior varsity team for four years and is a U.S. history teacher at as well.

According to the Salem News report, Broughton had a successful high school career himself at St. Mary’s of Lynn, scoring more than 2,000 points and then more than 1,000 during his time playing in college.
