Best of Patch: Who Makes the Best Subs?

Please vote for your favorite sub place by taking our poll and by clicking on the directory link and writing a short review.

Our inaugural Best of Patch contest kicks off this week with food on our minds.

Do you have a favorite sub shop in town?

Here are some of our favorite places, but if we're leaving one off of the list, please let us know in the comments and we'll add it:

Voting in the poll below is open until 9 a.m. Friday. Because this poll is not scientific, it is not the sole consideration in choosing a winner. The winner will be determined by the Patch editor, based on poll results and reviews on Patch Places. Please vote only once per survey.

I find slightly bizarre there was a huge jump in the matter of an hour in the voting process? Is there security matters in place that tracks IP so nothing is rigged etc?

I used to think Giovanni's but for a truly GREAT sub you have to travel to Gloucester to Destinos Subs ( http://www.destinossubs.com/ ) They have the BEST subs I have ever had. We have tried almost all of them on the board now. WOW!!! (and the service is fast and super friendly, like you are one of the family)

Santoro's have the best subs and the best catering food around. At least try them once for a party or special occasion and I bet you go back again & again. When my daughter & her husband come in from California they can't wait to go there and when they leave to go home they take a sub with them on the plane. Try it you'll like it.

Giovanni's made the best chicken kabob, steak bomb and roast beef back in the day. Their fried food would have probably been pretty good also, but those two brothers spent half the day with their heads in the fryolator getting their hair grease on for nights spent at the Palace.

I have been eating subs at Santoro's since 1955! We used to ALWAYS get subs from them on Sunday nights when I was a little girl. I LOVE their subs. My favorite back then was "The Roman Holiday" and today it is the chicken kabob! Thanks for all the many years of delicious subs!!!!

Hey what about Petrillos on Foster Street?

They have an unbelievable sub called "Prosciutto Bocconcini" — Prosciutto, fresh mozzarella, tomato, basil, olive oil and oregano :

Steve, the simplest explanation is that multiple people either discovered the poll or were informed and encouraged to vote at those times. It is an unscientific poll, as we said up front, and we will be weighing additional factors beyond just poll results in choosing the winner.

It's funny how I wrote a comment to show mr g's my support, but now I don't see the comment anywhere. And the winning decision was based on comments wonder what happened to that, way to run a survey patch, we all know who the real winner was
