According to Peabody Police Lt. William Cook, the incident happened at about 1 p.m. on Lowell Street. Westbound traffic was temporarily detoured through the church parking lot until police cleared from the scene.
The victim was reportedly crossing the street, coming from the church side, when he was struck by a Buick LeSabre.
