The Peabody Institute Library is pleased to announce a songwriting workshop presented by award-winning singer-songwriter, Meg Hutchinson. This event will be held on Wednesday, Oct. 10 at 7 p.m. at the Main Library, located at 82 Main St. in Peabody.
Often our writing knows more about us and the world than we do, if we can just figure out how to make a place for that honest voice in our work. Through exercises and discussion we will explore ways of working that encourage the best in ourselves.
How do we make the right and left brain get along? What exercises help us get through writers block? How are poems different from songs and what can they offer each other? How do we know when we are being honest in our work? How can creativity become a method of transformation?
This workshop is open to writers of all levels of experience. Please bring writing materials.
Meg Hutchinson is a lyric-based, contemporary acoustic songwriter who has won numerous songwriting awards in the U.S., Ireland and U.K.
